Netflix Releases Trailer For Upcoming Limited Series ‘Dash & Lily’

Earlier this month, Netflix announced the release of their upcoming limited holiday series Dash & Lily and officially released the show’s first trailer on Friday, according to Entertainment Weekly. The series is based on the novels entitled Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist).

Dash & Lily will feature Austin Abrams (This is Us) and Midori Francis (Good Boys) in the series’ titular roles. It’s described as “a whirlwind Christmas romance following cynical Dash and optimistic Lily, as the characters trade notes in a book they pass back and forth, at locations all across New York City,” according to Netflix’s synopsis.

The trailer, released by Netflix on October 23, features the start of the characters’ romance via the notebook they exchange throughout the Christmas season. It was filmed in New York during the 2019 holiday season, as creator Joe Tracz (Be More Chill) clarifies in a statement, “We shot Dash & Lily on location in the fall and winter of 2019, filming in so many of my favorite places, with no idea how different the city would look by the time we came out…I miss that New York, but I’m grateful to be sharing this story with the world right now,” as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

Dash & Lily will reunite Shawn Levy (Night At The MuseumStranger Things) and Nick Jonas (Camp Rock) since their 2009 comedy Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Referring to his production company 21 Laps, Levy iterated in statement, “The most essential quality of 21 Laps’ shows and films is heart, and Dash & Lily has that quality in spaces. Josh Barry and I are thrilled to be starting production with such an exceptional group of collaborators on and off screen – from writer/showrunner Joe Tracz to our talented directors, incredible cast, and of course, our producing partner, Nick Jonas.”

Abrams and Francis will star alongside Dante Brown (Lethal Weapon), Troy Iwata (New Amsterdam), James Saito (Always Be My Maybe), Keana Mari (Huge in France), and Jodi Long (Sullivan & Son).
