Netflix Releases Full-Length Trailer for ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’

Netflix has finally dropped the full trailer for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, the new animated adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels following panel at New York Comic Con. The series will premiere on November 17 on Netflix and will star a voice cast consisting of the entire original cast members of the live-action film version of Scott Pilgrim’s journey. The trailer is also the first time since the small preview clip released by Netflix that the audiences are able to hear the voice cast in their roles.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off follows the familiar story of Scott Pilgrim trying to obtain the girl of his dreams. As the trailer begins, Scott literally meets this girl, Ramona Flowers, in his dreams. He then goes on a comical journey to find Ramona and then, once he finally meets her, finally musters up the courage to ask her on a date. In this, Scott discovers that in order to continue to date Ramona, he needs to defeat her seven evil exes. He then takes off on this action-packed journey with sheer determination that he will prevail all in the name of love.

The original live-action movie remake of the graphic novels starred Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Birds Of Prey) in the leading roles and gained a cult following. The movie, titled Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, followed the same plotline, but because of the time constraints of a film, had to cut a lot of the graphic novel’s content. But, the new animated series is presumed to be able to stay even more true to the novels, and carry many details that superfans are going to be very excited about.

The voice cast will include Cera and Winstead as their original roles, but also the entire original cast of the live-action film which includes Satya Bhabha (Midnight’s Children, New Girl), Kieran Culkin (Succession), Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame), Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Into The Woods), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Alison Pill (Cooties), Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Rec), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, Asteroid City), Johnny Simmons (Jennifer’s Body), Mark Webber (The Ever After), Mae Whitman (The Perks Of Being A Wallflower), and Ellen Wong (Best Sellers).
