Netflix has just revealed the first promo footage for its upcoming Drew Barrymore series Santa Clarita Diet.
Deadline reports the promo for the new series premiered during the Golden Globes, where Barrymore was a presenter. Santa Clarita Diet, created by Victor Fresco (My Name Is Earl, Better Off Ted), was just recently revealed to not only be a suburban family sitcom, but to also have a heavy focus on cannibalism.
Santa Clarita Diet stars Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as husband and wife realtors living in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita. They live a relatively normal life together with their daughter Abby, played by Liv Hewson, until Barrymore complicates things by slowly becoming a cannibal. The series also stars Skyler Gisondo and Mary Elizabeth Ellis.
Barrymore, Olyphant and Fresco executive produce the series along with Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell. The dark comedy series will debut its full first season on Netflix on Friday, February 3rd.
