NBC to “Cross Lines” with New Series

“A world without borders needs justice without borders,” states the promotional material for NBC’s upcoming series, Crossing Lines. Created by Edward Allen Bernero and Rola Bauer, the scripted entry in NBC’s summer lineup aims to expand the reach of the traditional procedural to a more global scale.

“Fans of procedural crime shows will feel very much at home with this new team, but at the same time, the global setting will add a color and flavor to the show that will take audiences on a new and exciting ride,” Bernero explains. Crossing Lines will follow an international team of experts as they seek to solve criminal cases across Europe.

The team—played by Richard Flood, Tom Wlaschiha, Moon Dailly and Gabriella Pession—is comprised of individuals who are each from a different country and who each have their own specialty, from weapons to technology. They are joined by William Fitchner’s Carl Hickman, an injured and disgraced New York police officer who turns to international law instead.

“London, Rome, Paris, Berlin, Madrid: only one team has the power, the skills and the tools to cross borders,” one trailer promises, displaying the series’ universal reach and international appeal.

The series also stars Donald Sutherland and Marc Lavoine, and will premiere at 9 PM on Sunday, June 23.
