NBC announced the return of popular series, new comedies, dramas and season seven of The Voice.
Currently NBC is on track to win the traditional September-to-May primetime season for adults 18-49, a first in ten years. Their rating of 2.8 for adults 18-49 is up 17 percent from one year ago. NBC had great ratings because of their coverage of the Sochi Olympics and even if those numbers were not included, the network would remain number one for the season.
Some of the just-announced year-round schedule includes the Super Bowl on February 1, comedies Bad Judge, Mission Control, Marry Me, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, A to Z, Mr. Robinson, One Big Happy and projects from Ellen DeGeneres and producing team Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. On the dramatic side of things, the series include The Mysteries of Laura, State of Affairs, Allegiance, Odyssey and Constantine.
Returning to the fall lineup include About a Boy, The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Grimm, Hannibal, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Parenthood and Parks and Recreation. In the alternative format, returning series include American Ninja Warrior, America’s Got Talent, The Biggest Loser, Celebrity Apprentice, Hollywood Game Night and The Voice. Finally rounding out the fall schedule will be new event series including Emerald City, Aquarius, A.D., and Heroes Reborn.
“We had a stellar year in scripted programming development that resulted in the unprecedented number of new original series joining the line-up during the coming year, which spans from September 2014-September 2015,” said Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. “I’m inordinately proud of NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke and Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming, for delivering such a high volume of new quality programming to augment a line-up that has begun to show strong signs of solidification.”
