MXDWN Exclusive: BTS Video Reveals Sneak Peak Of Dungeons & Dragons’ ‘Twenty-Sided Tavern’ Event

Back in February, MXDWN revealed a new Dungeons & Dragon venture from Showpath Entertainment and Curious Hedgehog. Now, merely weeks away from its premiere, we have exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of The Twenty-Sided Tavern, a theatre production in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. View the exclusive footage below.

While previews of the show began in New York City at Stage 42 last Friday, the show officially opens on Sunday, May 5. The Twenty-Sided Tavern expands the D&D universe, bringing the improvised adventure from your best friend’s living room to center stage, allowing live-audience participation. The 33-second clip highlights the cast and crew in action preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“What started as a D&D-style RPG onstage with folding tables and a box of props has grown beyond our wildest imagination from day one we forged a deep connection with gamers and non-gamers alike by bringing them a whole new type of experience by fans for fans,” Gamiotics CEO and show producer David Carpenter (Eye Heart Color) previously stated. “When David Hutchinson at Showpath and the Hasbro team approached us about this collaboration, it was a perfect match. Together we are taking experiential entertainment to the next level.”

Since its initial announcement, a full cast has joined the production. Serving as Dungeon Master is DAGL (Drunk Shakespeare, Hamlet Isn’t Dead) and Sarah Davis Reynolds (Night Witches) is the beloved Tavern Keeper. The roles of our core role players belong to Madelyn Murphy as Mage, Tyler Nowell Felix (Modern Family) as Fighter, and Diego F. Salinas (Drunk Shakespeare) as Rogue. Additional cast members include Alex Stompoly (The Play That Goes Wrong), RJ Christian (Ratatoullie TikTok Musical), R. Alex Murray (Millenniums, Boardwalk Empire), and Cassidy Sledge (Alone, Illusion).

The fourth player is the live audience, who will be able to participate in real-time decisions via Gamiotics, a software application that allows them to influence key parts of our players’ quests. The audience will assist in solving riddles and puzzles as well as play a variety of games such as beer pong, charades, and trivia.

Tickets for the May 5 show are available via thetwentysidedtavern.com, telecharge.com, or by calling 800-447-7400. A nationwide tour is currently still in development. Follow more of the adventures on Discord.
