‘Ms. Marvel’ Premiere and Many More Marvel TV Confirmed for 2022

As fans anticipate more content coming from Marvel Studios on Disney+, one project left in the air is the release of the upcoming Ms. Marvel series starring newcomer Iman Vellani. According to Variety, the series is confirmed to come to the streamer in 2022.

According to Variety, Marvel will have up to 20 projects in the works for 2022. As far as Disney+, Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner (The Avengers) and Hailee Seinfeld (Pitch Perfect 2), will close out the 2021 slate on November 24. While the rest of the shows in 2022 were not confirmed, Ms. MarvelShe-Hulk starring Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac (X-Men: Apocalypse), and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will hit Disney+ that year.

Ms. Marvel was first announced to debut in 2021 along with She-Hulk and Moon Knight, but the pandemic pushed the entire Marvel schedule back. While the studio tried to play catch-up this year, it is disappointing for fans anticipating seeing Kamala Khan in action for the first time.

Ms. Marvel will follow Kamala Khan, a Muslim Pakistani-American teenager who is a superhero fangirl that gains shapeshifting abilities. Vellani will star in the title role. The directing team will include Adil El Arabi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for Life), Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Saving Face), and Meera Menon (The Magicians).

Ms. Marvel will stream exclusively on Disney+.
