Monty Python’s Michael Palin Cast in BBC Supernatural Drama ‘Remember Me’

Monty Python’s Michael Palin will star in his first lead TV Drama role since 1991.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Palin will star in the three-part BBC supernatural thriller, Remember Me, which is Palin’s first lead role in a TV Drama since he starred as a principal in GBH on Britain’s Channel 4.

In Remember Me, Palin will play Tom Parfitt, a frail Yorkshire “mysterious” resident of a nursing home who becomes the only witness to a violent death. Parfitt’s admittance to the nursing home triggers a series of inexplicable events, which leads Game of Thrones and The Full Monty actor, Mark Addy, to investigate as the detective.

Remember Me is written by Gwyneth Hughes, who wrote also wrote the BBC thriller Five Days and Miss Austen Regrets, and the 2012 film The Girl.

The supernatural thriller is currently being filmed in Huddersfield and Scarborough and will air on BBC One, the U.K. public broadcaster’s flagship channel. Julia Sawalha and Mina Anwar co-star on the drama.

Palin will also reunite with the other surviving members of the comedy troupe Monty Python for a series of sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena in July.
