Lyrics Born’s Cooking Series ‘Dinner In Place’ Enters Its Fourth Season On YouTube

The cooking web series Dinner In Place first began in 2020 through TikTok and YouTube shorts. The series is now entering its fourth season with full-length episodes premiering on YouTube. Dinner In Place is hosted by hip-hop artist Tsutomu Shimura, better known as Lyrics Born. Some of his hit songs include Callin’ Out, Bad Dreams, and Vision Board.

Lyrics Born has aimed to blend multiple different genres in his music. According to Lyricsborn.com, he “carries on his tradition of weaving funk and soul into classic, boom-bap Hip Hop.” In a similar way, through Dinner In Place, Lyrics Born aims to engage in and blend multiple cultures in each dish.

The official synopsis of the series states, “‘Dinner in Place’ is a web-based cooking series that celebrates multiculturalism through deliciously imaginative and healthy recipes that can be easily prepared at home in 45 minutes or less. Created by Bay Area Hip-Hop artist Lyrics Born, the show features fun and engaging episodes that showcase unique Asian fusion flavors reflective of his Japanese and Jewish ethnic background.”

The synopsis continues, “Originally launched during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘Dinner in Place’ has gained popularity over the years with three successful seasons. Now entering its fourth season, Lyrics Born is stepping up the production value for the series with a full film crew and introducing celebrity guests. The series promises to offer an even more exciting and entertaining culinary experience that celebrates diversity and multiculturalism.”

The first episode was released on July 12th and features chef and author Chris Cosentino (Top Chef Masters, The Next Iron Chef). A snippet of the episode was posted on his YouTube channel “Dinner In Place,” while the full episode is on his other channel “Lyrics Born.” In this episode, Lyrics Born and Cosentino demonstrate how to prepare a quick and appetizing Japanese convenience store-style three-egg salad sandwich.
