Lyric Ross Joins Marvel’s ‘Ironheart’

Lyric Ross (This Is Us) will be joining Marvel’s Ironheart alongside previously-announced cast members Dominique Thorne (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Anthony Ramos (In The Heights), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ironheart, also known as kid genius Riri Williams, is Marvel’s Iron Man-adjacent character who often takes over for Tony Stark as Iron Man in the comics.

Thorne will play the role of Riri – the teenage inventor who builds her own version of the Iron Man suit in her MIT dorm. Ross will play Williams’ best friend, Natalie Washington, who she met after they met at an open garage. Meanwhile, Ramos’ character will be kept secret, however rumors point to his character being a villain.

Ross was featured in Sirens and Chicago Fire before appearing in This Is Us‘ second season as Deja Pearson. Her character was the adopted teen that Randall, played by Sterling K. Brown (Waves) and Beth, played by Susan Kelechi Watson (Rumble), took in from the foster system. This Is Us is currently releasing its sixth and final season. Ross was awarded a Teen Choice Award nomination, three NAACP Image Award nominations, and a SAG Award for her work in This Is Us.

Ironheart will begin filming in April.
