‘Looking for Alaska’ Series is Coming to Hulu

According to Comingsoon, the limited tv series Looking for Alaska, based on John Green’s novel with the same title begins production in New Orleans this spring. According to TV Guide, the series is told through the eyes of Miles Halter (nicknamed Pudge), a teenager who enrolls in a boarding school “to chase the great perhaps of his life.” He falls in love with Alaska Young, and after her sudden death, he and his close friends try to unravel the mystery behind her death. Charlie Plummer (All the Money in the World) and Kristine Froseth (Apostle) will lead the series in the roles of Miles Halter and Alaska Young. Nearly a year after ordering the miniseries adaptation of John Green’s award-winning novel Looking for Alaska, Hulu has filled out its cast.

According to Deadline, Love will play The Colonel (Chip Martin), a short, muscular, and smart scholarship student. He is an enemy of the lacrosse jocks or “The Weekday Warriors,” and a friend of Miles, Alaska, and Takumi. He is a very loyal friend. Lee (American Vandal) will play Takumi, a member of the Colonel’s group of outcasts. He is very loyal to The Colonel and Alaska. Bender (The Sitter) will play Sara, The Colonel’s girlfriend. She is short and always angry at The Colonel. Vassilieva (CW’s Supergirl) will play a cute and sweet Romanian girl who will fall for Miles. Shelton (The Glades) will play Longwell (a “Weekday Warrior”), a handsome and rich kid who hates The Colonel and his “non-jock” friends, making their lives miserable. Connor (Sweet Pea, CW’s Riverdale) will play Kevin, another “Weekday Warrior” who is devoted to Longwell and blames The Colonel when one their group gets expelled.

According to Deadline, the executive producers Savage and Schwarts will work alongside Jessica Tuchinsky, Mark Waters, Green, and Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner of Temple Hill. Fake Empire exec Lis Rowinski will co-executive produce and Sarah Adina Smith (Hanna, Legion) will direct the pilot.
