Loki showrunner Michael Waldron is slated to work on the second season of Loki and a new Star Wars feature film, as reported by Deadline. Waldron is the head writer and an executive producer of the upcoming Disney+ series Loki. The Marvel Studios produced series stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the God of Mischief. The events of the series take place after Loki (Hiddleston) escapes with the Tesseract in the film Avengers: Endgame.
Revealed by the trailer, the first season of Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ in May of this year. News of second season means early tests for the upcoming series must be promising. Although unconfirmed by Disney or Marvel, Deadline reports Waldron’s work on the second season is already underway. The first look and official teaser trailer for Loki was released just last month.
In the trailer we see Loki in facilities that bear the letters, TVA. According to Marvel.com it stands for the Time Variance Authority. “TVA is an agency concerned with monitoring realities throughout the multiverse and attempting to keep temporal interference to minimum” – Marvel.com The Loki title sequence shifts and changes its letters much like the scenes shifted in the trailer. Cast-mates include Owen Wilson (Zoolander) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Fast Color) who both appear in the trailer below.
Beginning his career with Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, Waldron is currently working on the upcoming sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for director Sam Raimi. Waldron created and is executive producing, Heels, an upcoming Starz wrestling drama, and that’s not all.
Deadline reports that Waldron is set to write new Star Wars film that Marvel President and Chief Creative Officer, Kevin Feige will produce for Lucasfilm and Disney. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy looks to start the new era of Star Wars films with fellow Disney executive Feige. Given the massive success Feige has garnered for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kennedy hopes to bring that same success to the next generation of Star Wars films.

Among other upcoming Marvel series are WandaVision, set to premiere on Disney+ Jan 15. WandaVision is reportedly lead up to the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, coming out early 2022.
