Liv Tyler is making her television debut.
EW reports that Tyler has been cast in the pilot of an upcoming HBO series. Damon Lindelof’s the Leftovers is based on Tom Perrotta’s novel with the same name.
This post-apocalyptic show features the world after the rapture. Tyler plays Meg, a woman trying to avoid her wedding and is targeted by a cult leader. She joins actor Justin Theroux, who will play the chief of police.
This will be Tyler’s first role on television.
According to EW, Peter Berg (Battleship, Friday Night Lights) will direct the pilot.
