As previously reported, Lauren Cohan still had not signed contract for season 9 of The Walking Dead. According to reports from Entertainment Weekly, that may not be happening as she’s been cast in an ABC drama entitled Whiskey Cavalier.
Cohan has been cast as a CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge playing opposite Scott Foley, an FBI agent with the code name Whiskey Cavalier.
What this new role does not confirm is whether Cohan will be returning for season 9 of TWD. Since this new series is not a definite for the Fall 2018 lineup, she could return as a regular or in a smaller capacity as Maggie. If the series does not get picked up, that also places Lauren’s fate back with AMC.
Fans of The Walking Dead surely don’t want to see an end to Maggie, especially as she’s carrying Glenn’s baby and kicking some serious arse at the Hilltop. Tune in to the second half of season 8 starting February 25 on AMC.
