The cast for season two of Heated Rivalry is growing at a staggering pace. The series has managed to find three new actors to join the cast. The actors are Kevin Zegers (The Madison, The Rookie), Paul Gross (Saint-Pierre, Good Night, and Good Luck), and Milla Jovovich (Worldbreaker, Protector).
For those who don’t know, Heated Rivaly is a series that tells a story involving two rival hockey stars who are at the top of their game. However, they both face an unexpected challenge when they develop feelings for each other. Their love for each other will complicate their careers and the sport’s expectations. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zegers will play Coach Weibe, the head coach of Ottawa’s professional hockey team, Gross will play Commissioner Roger Crowell, and Jovovich will play Dr. Galina Molchain, a therapist that the main character Ilya Rozanov sees during the events of Rachel Reid’s (Tough Guy, Game Changer) novel The Long Game.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, each season of the show is based off of the book series written by Reid, the second season will adapt the sixth novel The Long Game which will continue Shane and Ilya’s love story. The novel mentions how the two hockey players are now in a committed relationship with one another and will learn how to build a life together while also hiding their relationship from the public.
The cast consists of Hudson Williams (Human Nature, Laufey: Madwoman), François Arnaud (Someone’s Daughter, Abril), Connor Storrie (Criminal Minds, For All Mankind), Callam Potter (We Were Liars, Out Standing), Christina Chang (Vanity Vandals, Over the Line), Benjamin Roy (Temps Partiel, STAT), Dylan Walsh (The Highest Stakes, The Man in the Window), Sophie Nélisse (Lydia and the Mist Rider, Whistle), Robbie G.K. (Sheriff Country, Overcompensating), Charlie Gillespie (One Night Only, Sidelined 2: Intercepted), and Justice Smith (Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, The American Society of Magical Negroes).
The second season of the series is set to debut in 2027. In the meantime, you can check out the first season on HBO Max in order to get prepared for the second season.
