With the second season of Heated Rivalry in production, it’s only fitting that the cast would have to grow. The series has managed to find two actors to join the second season, those actors being Charlie Gillespie (One Night Only, Sidelined 2: Intercepted) and Justice Smith (Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, The American Society of Magical Negroes).
For those who don’t know, Heated Rivalry is a series that tells a story about two rival hockey stars at the top of their game and face an unexpected challenge: developing feelings for each other. Their feelings for each other will complicate their careers and the sport’s expectations. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gillespie has been casted as Troy Barrett, a professional hockey player who is traded to the Ottawa Centaurs and Smith has been casted as Harris Drover, the team’s social media manager.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Jacob Tierney (Letterkenny, Shoresy) issued this statement during a press release: “From the start of the casting process, we knew we were looking for actors who could create something truly special together and bring that same depth and heart to the screen. Justice and Charlie do exactly that,” the continued. ‘They immediately connected with the vulnerability and resilience at the core of these characters, bringing an instinctive understanding of who Harris and Troy are.’”
The cast consists of Hudson Williams (Human Nature, Laufey: Madwoman), Connor Storrie (Criminal Minds, For All Mankind), François Arnaud (Someone’s Daughter, Abril), Franco Lo Presti (Crossroad Springs, Tracker), Callan Potter (We Were Liars, Out Standing), Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova (Sterling Point, My Daughter Was Taken), Conor McKenna (Heated Rivalry, Soul to Keep), Kolton Stewart (My Life with the Walter Boys, What She Didn’t Tell Me), Christina Chang (Vanity Vandals, Over the Line), Benjamin Roy (Temps Partiel, STAT), Dylan Walsh (The Highest Stakes, The Man in the Window), Yaroslav Poverlo (Killing Castro, Glass Dragon), and Slavic Rodozine (Youngblood, Murdoch Mysteries).
