CBS has released the first trailer for Tracker Season four, offering look at Justin Hartley’s (This Is Us, Smallville, The Noel Diary) return as Colter Shaw. According to ScreenRant, the new season will premiere October 4 on CBS.
The trailer highlights one of the show’s biggest changes as production moves from Vancouver to Los Angeles after filming its first three seasons in Canada. The new location will also factor into the story, with Colter investigating a case at the Port of Los Angeles involving a single father who was abducted after failing to return home.
Hartley returns alongside Fiona Rene (The Lincoln Lawyer, Fire Country, I Know What You Did Last Summer) as Reenie Greene and Chris Lee (Legacies, The Chi, Empire) as Randy. Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, The Boys, Countdown) will also reprise his recurring role as Colter’s older brother Russell Shaw. Cassady McClincy Zhang (The Walking Dead, Ozark, Love, Simon) and Sofia Pernas (Blood & Treasure, The Brave, Jane the Virgin) are also expected to return.
Season four will continue the story following the events of the Season three finale, “The Best Ones.” The episode featured Russell joining Colter in rescuing the Chrono Stasis test subjects.
Russell later discovered a file containing information about something their father had done to Colter during his childhood. Rather than revealing its contents to his brother, Russell left on a dangerous mission intended to erase the records. Ackles is confirmed to return in Season four, although CBS has not announced exactly when his character will appear.
The Season three finale also revealed that Colter has an off-the-grid home, adding another element to the character after the first three seasons largely depicted him traveling across the United States in his Airstream.
Tracker debuted in February 2024 with a 13-episode first season before expanding to 20 episodes for Season two and 22 episodes for Season three.
Tracker Season four premieres October 4 on CBS.
