Kevin Feige Looks to Expand the MCU with Disney’s ‘Loki’ and Other Marvel TV Shows

Disney+ producers, writers, directors, and even cast members have done an incredible job with sharing very little information about the contents of new shows that the streaming site will carry. One of those exciting projects comes from the MCU, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. In the movies, fans have constantly changed their opinions about the god of mischief whose character changes between good and evil in the most surprising moments.

Anything that happens in Marvel movies is always kept in complete secrecy. It’s the same policy for their TV shows. Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki in the Disney+ series.

“All I can tell you is that it is called Loki,” said Hiddleston. “It is a new departure … but I can’t explain why.”

A new image of Loki had been shared from the series at the Disney+’s investor presentation meeting back in April. It revealed Loki on a street with a movie theatre backdrop that was showing Steven Spielberg’s 1975 film, Jaws.

Loki has made it very far in the films, with his recent appearance in Avengers: Endgame. With Loki having access to the Tesseract, his journey to different timelines will be something to explore in Loki

“It is a constant source of surprise and delight that these films have connected with people,” said Hiddleston. “I knew he was a complex figure. Intelligent yet vulnerable. Angry and lost and broken and witty. I thought it was an amazing opportunity and it’s grown into this network of movies. I could never have expected it.”

Disney+ is a great way for Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to expand upon the MCU.

“Another exciting thing about being at this place at this time and goes back to the amount of characters we have and the amount of stories we could tell,” said Feige. “When we announced ten movies and people asked ‘Well what about these other things?’ the previous stance would be ‘We only have a certain number of slots to make movies per year.’ That’s still true but we have another outlet that I think will be very unique and very special.”

No premiere date has been confirmed for Loki.

Disney+ will launch on November 12.
