Ken Marino will Co-Star In NBC Comedy Pilot ‘Marry Me’

Ken Marino will play opposite Casey Wilson in the project from the Davis Caspe, the creator of Happy Endings.

The Party Down star, Ken Marino, has been chosen to be the male lead in NBC’s Marry Me pilot  comedy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy centers on a longtime couple Annie (Casey Wilson) and Jack who get engaged and realize that it’s harder than it looks.

Marino’s character, Jake, is a patient, kind and slight mama’s boy, who hate being the center of attention. Jake is that guy who doesn’t like expressing his emotions and who waits too long to propose to his girlfriend. They have been dating for six years and he is in love with Annie, who brings meaning and excitement to his life.

Seth Gordon and Jamie Tarses will be the executive producers of the show alongside Caspe, who penned the script. Gordon will also direct the single-camera comedy pilot. Marry Me brings Marino back into the NBC fold. Last season, he was the star on the comedy pilot titled The Gates, which didn’t evolve.

Ken Marino recently wrapped the movie Veronica Mars and he is also writing the features for  Go The F*** To Sleep with Erica Oyama for Fox 2000 and Return Of The Jocks for 21 Laps and 20th Century Fox as noted by Deadline. The actor starred and directed the Yahoo/E! series Burning Love from Ben Stiller’s Red Hour. Marino’s credits also include Childrens Hospital and Eastbound & Down and he is repped by Paradigm and Principato Young.
