Jack Dylan Grazer Brings Famous Thimbletack To Life In ‘Spiderwick Chronicles’ Series

The upcoming TV adaptation of The Spiderwick Chronicles brings back the fantastical world of fairies and goblins and premieres on April 19th. In an interview via Comicbook, Jack Dylan Grazer (Luca, It), taking on the role of the brownie Thimbletack originally voiced by Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), recently spoke about his approach to the character.

When asked if he pulled inspiration from short, Glazer responded, “I did.”

“It’s the first thing I did, and they were like, ‘Don’t do that.’ And I was like, ‘What did I just do all that research for?’ No, it wasn’t actually chore-research, it was very fun. I also grew up loving the movie, a big obsession with it, actually. I had all the toys and hobgoblin and the monocle and everything.”

Glazer continued via Comicbook: “I went in there doing a pirate-y thing … and then they were like, ‘Don’t do that, that’s weird, you’re not a pirate or a leprechaun, you’re a kid. You’re a 2,000-year-old teenager,’ so I was like, ‘Oh, that’s easier. Kinda lame, I wanted to be a leprechaun pirate.’ And they were like, ‘No, no,'” he continued. “What ended up happening was we took different takes of me doing different things with more gravel or more pitch, then they combined it for certain bits.”

The summary of the series follows the Grace family as they move from Brooklyn to the Spiderwick Estate. According to a previous mxdwn post, the series was originally supposed to launch on Disney+ but was axed and later landed at Roku.

According to Comicbook, the cast of the fantasy series will consist of Joy Bryant (For Life), Lyon Daniels (Patriot), Noah Cottrell (The Chosen), Mychala Lee (Relish), Christian Slater (Freelance), and Alyvia Alyn Lind (Chucky). It will be show run and executively produced by Aron Eli Coleite (Locke & Key).

The Spiderwick Chronicles series hasn’t premiered but is sure to captivate the viewers with its wonderful blend of fantasy, adventure, and drama.
