According to an article via Tvline In a new promo for Suits LA, Gabriel Macht (Suits, The Good Wife) returns to his iconic role as Harvey Specter. Macht’s three-episode arc kicks off on Sunday, March 16, at 9/8c on NBC, in a flashback storyline where Harvey’s tense history with Stephen Amell’s character, Ted Black, unfolds. Their relationship begins on a contentious note as Harvey corrects Ted’s drink order and questions, “Would you like to play it with me, or would you like to play it against me?”.

The Suits LA episode will dive into their shared past when both men were involved in a prosecutors’ league baseball team in New York. According to creator Aaron Korsh(Everybody Loves Raymond ,Love,Inc), Harvey and Ted’s relationship will be explored in the first two episodes, culminating in a present-day reunion during the third episode. Korsh told TVLine, “We tell the story of what their relationship was in the past in the first couple of episodes, and then in the third episode, he shows up in the present day, and they take care of some unfinished business.”

The reason Harvey Specter was chosen to be the first original Suits alum on Suits LA is simple, says Korsh. “He was the clear and obvious choice,” Korsh explained to TVLine. “Ted was a prosecutor in New York at the time that Harvey was working in New York, so they, clearly, would’ve known each other.” Their connection becomes clearer when Korsh reveals both men played on the same baseball team, which provided a natural way to introduce them.

In a unique twist, Rick Hoffman (Suits, Leverage) will also reprise his role in Suits LA. However, the two actors’ arcs will not overlap, adding to the intrigue surrounding these crossover appearances. Korsh noted that integrating other Suits characters would have been trickier, making Harvey’s appearance a fitting choice.

With their past history and tension now being explored, fans of both Suits and Suits LA can look forward to an exciting mix of old rivalries and unfinished business in the upcoming episodes. The reunion promises to shed light on the complex relationship between Harvey and Ted, while paving the way for future Suits crossovers.
