‘Ink Master’ Inks Deal for Season 10

Ink Master fans won’t even have to live with the fear of being cancelled this year. Variety announced that Ink Master has already been renewed for season 10, even though season 9 hasn’t premiered yet. Additionally, the network is so thrilled with the Ink Masters franchise that they have greenlit a spinoff entitled Ink Master Angels.

Season 9 of Ink Master has already been under development for some time, and is expected to debut in June of this year alongside the first Ink Master spinoff, Ink Master: Redemption. Redemption helps the victims of less-than-stellar tattoos get the first-rate replacements they deserve: or so they would hope. Given that the artist replacing the tattoos are also the original tattoo’s artists, as well introducing the same kind of competitive air you receive on Ink MasterRedemption has all the tension and hope you’d want for this kind of spinoff.

Over on the original Ink Master, season 10 will feature 16 one-hour episodes. However, the series will air on the rebranded Paramount Network starting in 2018. Spike’s senior vice president of original programming, Chachi Senior, spoke highly of the renewal: “I’m so pleased to see Ink Master reach a milestone tenth season as it continues to be a great ratings driver for the network. Additionally, the franchise has shown such amazing growth with our female audience that it is a natural progression to launch a female-fronted standalone competition.”

That’s right, Ink Master Angels will showcase four of season 8’s top female contenders: Kelly Doty, Ryan Ashley, Gia Rose, and Nikki Simpson. The women will cross the country, competing against rival tattoo artists who think they have the artistic skills to beat them. Additionally, styles and themes of each tattoos will take a turn with each new destination. The winners and losers will be decided by the judge of Dave Navarro, Chris Nunez, and Oliver Peck.
