‘In From the Cold:’ A Mother Fights to Keep Her Former Life Secret in Netflix Series’ First Trailer

Netflix released the first full trailer for the female-led action thriller series, In From the Cold, starring Margarita Levieva (Spread, The Invisible). Debuting on Friday, January 28, the series follows an American single mother forced to return to her past life as a Russian agent to defeat a new threat. View the trailer below.

The trailer introduces us to Levieva’s Jenny Franklin, a mother whose normal life is turned upside down when she is gassed, kidnapped, and interrogated by unknown assailants. These strangers turn out to be CIA agents who accuse Jenny of being a former Russian operative known as The Whisperer. The lone survivor of human experiments that altered her with unique abilities, The Whisperer was said to have just vanished into thin air. Jenny vehemently denies these allegations, but facing a life or death situation, she quickly disposes of the threats with elite precision. It seems a new enemy has risen, mimicking the assassin’s former kills, and the world of espionage requires her talents to extinguish the threat. Now Jenny must balance the life she’s known with one she thought she had buried years ago to save not only the world but the ones she loves.

In addition to Levieva, the series stars Cillian O’Sullivan (Vikings, The Blacklist) as Chauncey; newcomer Lydia Fleming as Becca; Charles Brice (Watchmen, Homeland) as Chris; Amanda Bright (Doctors, Coronation Street) as Ladonna Davis; Lola Mae Loughran (Skins, A Mother’s Son) as Maddie Davis; Stasya Miloslavaskaya (The Bull, Ikariya) as Anya; and, Alyona Khmelnitskaya (Arbitr, Little Lord Fauntleroy) as Svetlana Petrova.

According to Collider, the series comes from Supernatural scribe Adam Glass with directing shared between Ami Canaan Man (Jackie & Ryan, Heat) and Birgitte Staermose (Out of Love, The English Game).

All eight episodes of In From the Cold will be available to stream on January 28 only on Netflix.
