Hulu Series ‘Woke’ Renewed For A Second Season

Hulu has ordered a second season of its scripted comedy series entitled Woke, according to The Hollywood ReporterInspired by the life of artist Keith Knight, the show stars Lamorne Morris (New Girl) as Keef, a successful cartoonist who gains a new perspective on life when an unexpected event changes his life. Its debut season was released on September 9.

Morris is most well-known for his role on the Fox comedy series New Girl as Winston Bishop, alongside co-stars Zooey Deschanel ((500) Days of Summer), Jake Johnson (Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse), Max Greenfield (The Neighborhood), and Hannah Simone (Killing Gunther). The series initially aired in 2011 and aired is seventh and final season in 2018.

Opposite Morris on Woke stars Rose McIver (iZombie), Black Anderson (Workaholics), Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live), and T Murph in his debut role. Woke was co-created and executive produced by Marshall Todd (Barbershop) and Knight.

The second season of the Hulu original will consist of eight episodes. A return date has not yet been issued. The debut season’s trailer can be viewed below:
