Hulu Renews ‘Ramy’ for a Third Season

The Hulu original series Ramy has been renewed for third season consisting of ten-episodes, according to Deadline. Debuting in 2019, the streaming series was created by its lead-actor Ramy Youssef (Mr. Robot, See Dad Run), Ryan Welch (On the Count of Three), and Ari Katcher (The Carmichael Show) and is executive produced by Youssef, Welch, and Katcher in addition to Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show, Comedy Bang! Bang!), Bridget Bedard (Transparent), Ravi Nandan (Euphoria), and many more. The series has two seasons available for streaming on Hulu due to the second season premiering on May 29. Ramy has amassed critical acclaim, particularly with a Peabody Award in addition to a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series for Youssef during its first season.

Ramy details the lives of American Muslims living in a tight-knit neighborhood in New Jersey. The series centers on Youssef’s main titular character Ramy Hassan, an American Muslim that is attempting to balance his Millenial lifestyle, parental pressure, friends, and his faith simultaneously. This Hulu’s original program has witnessed great acclaim for its depiction of American Muslims, especially by debunking Western Civilization stereotypes of Islam and Muslims. In addition to Youssef, the series’ cast includes Hiam Abbass (Succession, Blade Runner 2049), Mohammed Amer (Crashing), Amr Waked (Lucy, Wonder Woman 1984), Dave Merheje (Mr. D), Laith Nakli (12 Strong, 24: Legacy), and Mahershala Ali (True Detective, Moonlight).

Currently, the show is available for streaming on Hulu with subscriptions for the service starting at $5.99 (USD) per month. Despite the renewal announcement, there is yet to be a set date for the third season premiere nor any announced new cast members as well. Check out the season two trailer for Ramy below:
