Hulu has just released the trailer for their new mystery-thriller series The Sister. The new series stars Russell Tovey (Years and Years, Looking), Bertie Carvel (Baghdad Central, Doctor Foster: A Woman Scorned), and Amrita Acharia (Game of Thrones, The Good Karma Hospital). According to a Hulu press release.
The nearly two minute trailer alludes to a mysterious secret that Nathan (Tovey) doesn’t want to get out. In the first scene of the trailer, Nathan’s face is petrified, as he opens the door and asks “What are you doing here?”. The man that is standing outside in the rain is clearly not a man Nathan wanted to see. The man then proceeds to tell Nathan “They’re digging up the woods, we’ve got to move her….” a message he was reluctant to speak of. Scenes of a rainy forest and burying a dead girl flash by as the story intensifies. Dark and rainy sequences follow the scenes throughout the entire trailer. Foretelling of an ominous feeling that this is a secret that has life changing consequences. Check out the trailer below:
According to the press release, Nathan has never been able to forget the worst night of his life. A party that led to the sudden, shocking death of a young woman. Only he and Bob (Carvel), an eccentric old acquaintance, know what really happened… and they’ve resolved to keep it that way. Consisting of four parts the series is written by Neil Cross (Luther, Hard Sun). Cross’ novel Burial, serves as the inspiration for the upcoming Hulu series. Euston Films’ Managing Director Kate Hardwood (Hard Sun), Noemi Spanos, and Cross are all executive producers. Directed by Niall MacCormick (The Victim) Hulu’s The Sister is a London based Euston Films production. All episodes of The Sister are set to premiere on the streaming network Jaunuary 22nd.
