Hulu Adds Ella Anderson To Upcoming Series ‘Conviction’

Deadline has reported in an exclusive that American actress and singer Ella Anderson (Borrasca, You’re Dead to Me) will be joining the main cast of Hulu’s upcoming legal drama Conviction as a series regular. She joins lead Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale, Mad Men) and cast members Sebastian De Souza (Normal People, Medici), Linda Emond (Only Murders in the Building, Succession), Adam Godley (The Umbrella Academy, The Great), Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy, It Ends with Us), and Jimmi Simpson (Dark Matter, Black Mirror).

Conviction is based on author Jack Jordan’s 2023 eponymous book, reports Deadline, and is created and written by David Shore (The Good Doctor, House).

From Deadline, a brief description of the events of the series:

Conviction follows criminal defense attorney Neve Harper (Moss), a confident lawyer who finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral, and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal – or else risk her dark secrets being exposed.”

As listed by Deadline, Jordan will executive produce, along with; The Littlefield Co.’s Ann Johnson (Reprisal, Dopesick), Warren Littlefield (Fargo, The Old Man), and Lisa Harrison (Carnival of Souls, New Nightmare); Co-Lab21’s Bert Salke (First Wave, Boomtown); creator Shore and Erin Gunn (Accused, Battle Creek) through Shore Z Productions; and series star Moss and Lindsey McManus (Shining Girls, The Testaments) through Love & Squalor Pictures.

Deadline highlighted that, beyond this description, other major character details (including Anderson’s) are still under wraps for the time being.

Anderson got her start onscreen young, as a child actress through recognizable Disney and Nickelodeon television series such as A.N.T. Farm and Henry Danger, the latter of which she participated in from 2014 through its end in 2020. Additional film credits include roles in The Glass Castle and The Boss, as well as her role of Rachel Cartwright in the 2025 musical biopic Song Sung Blue. She made her musical career debut in 2020, and last released music in 2021. Via Deadline, she recently completed filming Salia Kariat’s Jesus Land, opposite Juliette Lewis (Cape Fear, Yellowjackets).
