HBO’s ‘In Treatment’ Adds Anthony Ramos to Cast

The HBO drama In Treatment is preparing for a revival in the fourth season on the premium network and is set to introduce some new components to its cast. Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, In the Heights) will be added to the season four cast of the HBO drama series in a recurring spot, according to Deadline. This casting announcement follows the reveal that Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black) will also appear in the upcoming season for the drama in featured role. 

The series was developed by Rodrigo Garcia () and premiered on HBO in 2008. The series ran for three seasons, amassing 106 total episodes, before its end. However, In Treatment is set to produce a new fourth season ten years following the conclusion of its original run. The new season will be executive produced by the likes of Jennifer Schuur (Hannibal, Big Love), Joshua Allen (Empire, Hostages), Melissa Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Stephen Levinson (Ballers, Entourage), Hagai Levi (The Affair, Our Boys), and Mark Wahlberg (Entourage, The Other Guys). 

In Treatment’s original run centered on the practice of Dr. Paul Weston where he begins to doubt his own ability as a psychotherapist. The original run’s cast included Gabriel Byrne (Hereditary, The Riordans) as Weston and Dianne West (Bullets over Broadway, Hannah and Her Sisters) as Gina Toll. The revitalized season of the HBO drama will star Aduba as a therapist that is also undergoing self-evaluation and identity issues, Ramos will come on as a patient Eladio. 

Currently, the revived season of In Treatment is on the cusp of starting its production process, adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. There is no exact premiere date set for the program, but it is expected to release the season in 2021 on HBO and its newly launched WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max.
