HBO Max To Reunite Cast Of ‘The West Wing’ For Voting Mission, Trailer Released

The original cast of NBC’s 1999 series The West Wing will reunite for a reunion special on HBO Max on October 15 which is set to raise awareness for Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote organization, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe special, entitled, “A West Wing Special To Benefit When We All Vote” will mark 17 years since the original cast has come together to perform. Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now), Dulé Hill (Psych), Allison Janney (Mom, I, Tonya), Rob Lowe (Parks and Recreation), Janel Moloney (The Leisure Seeker), Richard Schiff (The Good Doctor, Man of Steel), and Bradley Whitford (Get Out, The Handmaid’s Tale) will all reprise their original roles in the series.

The West Wing follows a group of presidential advisors who attempt to juggle their personal lives with their professional lives. The reunion special will feature a theatrical stage presentation of the season three episode “Hartsfield’s Landing.” Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) is also said to be joining the special, which was filmed in early October in Los Angeles while maintaining COVID-19 guidelines. Alongside Brown, the episode will feature guest appearances from Obama, Bill Clinton, and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) among others.

Obama’s When We All Vote campaign was founded in order to increase voter turnout in each upcoming election in the United States. This special will aim to escalate support for the cause. The special will be available to watch on October 15 on HBO Max and the official trailer can be watched below:
