HBO Max Announces ‘Overlook,’ ‘Duster,’ and Justice League Dark Project from Bad Robot Productions

HBO Max has announced the upcoming arrival of three new series from Bad Robot Productions, operated by J.J. Abrams (Cloverfield and Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Katie McGrath, and Warner Bros. Television Group. HBO Max is a new streaming platform that encompasses content from WarnerMedia and HBO programs and is launching sometime in May for $15 per month. The series set to premiere on the streaming service include Overlook, Duster, and an untitled project revolving around the Justice League Dark Universe.

One of the series, Overlook, centers on characters from The Shining and untold stories that exist in the infamous fictional hotel created by Stephen King’s novel. Additionally, the newly announced program Duster will be under the creative guidance of J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan (The Walking Dead and Shameless). This series, set in the 1970s, follows the unpredictable life of a getaway driver for a Southwest crime organization. Also, the third series of the HBO Max announcement is an untitled program that will center on DC comic characters as a part of the overarching Justice League Dark Universe as seen below:

The partnership between Bad Robot and Warner Bros. includes the current HBO successful hit, Westworld, in addition to Hulu’s Castle Rock. Although there are no anticipated premiere dates for these announced series, WarnerMedia is set to provide innovative and fresh programs to its upcoming streaming service, HBO Max.
