Genneya Walton Joins The Cast Of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ Marvel Disney+ Series

Daredevil: Born Again, an upcoming Marvel Disney+ series, will star Genneya Walton (Candy Cane Lane, An American Girl: Isabella Dances Into The Spotlight, and Extant). She has also appeared in the Netflix series Never Have I Ever playing Lindsey Thompson, a substitute teacher. Walton has many appearances in minor roles as well, such as Criminal Minds, The Resident and 9-1-1.

According to Deadline, she is rumored to be portraying a young journalist with ties to a character from the original series, though character specifics are not yet known.

Marvel Studios rewrote the script for Daredevil: Born Again, which stars Charlie Cox (Kin,Echoas the blind lawyer-turned-superhero Matt Murdock, stars Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Liftas mob boss Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Bearas Punisher. Daredevil: Born Again was put on hold in mid-June due to a writers’ strike.

Dario Scardapane (Memory, Traumatook over as showrunner in place of Matt Corman (Covert Affairsand Chris Ord (Deck The Halls).

Arty Froushan (Carnival Row, The Persian Version), Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints Of Newark, Beau Is Afraid), Nikki M. James (Faraway Eyes, Walk With Me), and Margarita Levieva (In From The Cold, Inherit The Viperare also part of the Daredevil: Born Again cast. Deadline previously reported Wilson Bethel (Hart Of Dixie, The Astronaut Wives Club), who played Bullseye/Benjamin Poindexter in the original series, is reportedly returning to the role. 

Walton most recently starred alongside Eddie Murphy (Coming To America, Norbitand Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish, Girlfriends) in the Amazon Christmas film Candy Cane Lane, and had a significant recurring role in Season 4 of Never Have I Ever on Netflix. Additional credits include a series regular on the Kenya Barris (Grown-ish, You People) and Rashida Jones (The Office, Parks and RecreationNetflix comedy #BlackAf as well Project MC2 at Netflix. Storm Reid produced the feature film Darby and the Dead (Disney/Hulu).
