‘Game of Thrones’ Star Kristofer Hivju Makes Coronavirus Recovery

Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju has announced that he has fully recovered from coronavirus. He shared the news via Instagram where he shared that, “We are fully recovered and in good health after I was infected by the Coronavirus, and most likely my wife @grymolvaerhivju. After several weeks in quarantine, and also a couple more indoors after being free of all symptoms, we are finally safe and sound.”

Hivju is most well known for playing Tormund Giantsbane in HBO’s hit Game of Thrones series and Connor Rhodes in The Fate of the Furious. In February, it was announced that Hivju was to star in The Witcher’s second season as Nivellen, a man cursed with a monstrous appearance. However, production on the series ground to a halt mid-March when Hivju tested positive whilst working on set.

Hivju also added that he’s fortunate to only to have had minor symptoms and encourages his fans to be careful and to maintain social distancing during the crisis. “We send our love and thoughts to all of the people where the virus has hit much harder, and to everyone who has lost their loved ones due to the Coronavirus. Thank you all for your support, and please remember to remain vigilant and keep your distance, wash your hands, and most of all; take care of each other in this strange time. Lots of love from us.”

It’s currently unknown when production will resume on The Witcher’s second season.
