NBC’s Peacock TV Releases First Trailer for ‘Angelyne’

The new streaming platform Peacock, from NBC and Comcast, released its first look trailer at one of its original programs Angelyne, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As of April 15, the streaming platform Peacock was released in a limited preview for Xfinity and Flex customers before its national release on July 15. The platform is set to include 15,000 hours of content including its vault of NBC originals such as 30 Rock and The Office. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, much of the original programming for the streamer has paused its production and delayed its anticipated release date, including the upcoming Angelyne series. Regardless, the Peacock drama is planning on premiering later in 2020.

The series, consisting of eight episodes, is based on a Hollywood Reporter article by one of its writers Gary Baum which surrounded accounts of a billboard icon Angelyne, who is cited for starting the “famous for being famous” trend. Baum will be joined on the creative side by Angelyne’s showrunner and producer Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) in addition to the real Angelyne – real name Renee Golberg – in a producer role for the series about her life in Hollywood. The cast includes Esmail’s wife singer-actress Emmy Rossum (Shameless) as Angelyne, Martin Freeman (Sherlock), Jefferson Hall (Game of Thrones and Vikings), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society), Alex Karpovsky (Girls and Homecoming), Lukas Gage (American Vandal), Molly Ephraim (Last Man Standing), and Michael Angarano (Sky High).

Angelyne is one of the fifteen original programs set to air on Peacock in the next year. Although there is not a set premiere date due to the on-going pandemic, television fans can enjoy Peacock TV’s new trailers that include Intelligence, a revival of Psych, a new season of A.P. Bio, and a reboot of Saved by the Bell on its twitter account as it prepares to roll out its streaming platform nationally. To get your first look at Angelyne, check out the trailer below:
