‘Rick and Morty’ Creator Releases Trailer for ‘Solar Opposites’

The full trailer for Solar Opposites is out. Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and executive-producer Mike McMahan have partnered to create the animated sitcom as a Hulu original.

Solar Opposites was originally created for Fox; however, Hulu took the reins after the project was shelved in 2018. Two seasons have been greenlit by the streaming platform thus far and it’s set to air five days after Rick and Morty returns on May 3. The season is to have eight episodes for a total of sixteen across the two seasons.

Solar Opposites centers around a family of aliens who escape to Earth as refugees in middle-America. They disagree on whether or not this is a positive or negative development. Together, they embark on all manner of hijinks, wreaking havoc on a suburban town. Justin Roiland, the creator of the show, will be voicing Korvo. Thomas Middleditch, of Silicon Valley fame, will be playing Terry. Sian Giambrome, most well-known for his starring role in The Goldbergs, will play Yumyulack and Mary Mack will be playing Jesse.

The trailer appears to mirror Roiland’s previous work on Rick and Morty with a similar animation style and a similar style of slapstick sci-fi humor. However, it’s currently unknown if the two works are potentially related.
