FX’s Upcoming Murder Mystery Series Gets New Title

According to Deadline, FX’s upcoming murder mystery limited series, starring Emma Corrin (Pennyworth, The Crown) and Harris Dickinson (Clique, Trust), has been newly titled A Murder at the End of the World. The series was formerly known as Retreat and was created and directed by Brit Marling (The OA, The East) and Zal Batmanglij (Sound of My Voice, The OA). It will premiere exclusively on Hulu in August.

A Murder at the End of the World follows Corrin’s Darby Hart, a Gen Z sleuth who gets invited to a remote retreat in an enticing location with eight other people by a reclusive billionaire, played by Clive Owens (Chancer, The Knick). When one of the guests winds up dead, Darby has to use her skills to prove that it was murder, against a lot of competing interests, before someone is killed again.

Marling will also star in the series. Along with Owens, Marling, Corrin, and Dickinson, the cast includes Neal Huff (The Sinner, Falling Water), Ryan J. Haddad (The Politician, Love, Repeat), Alice Braga (Queen of the South, The Suicide Squad), Louis Cancelmi (Billions, Boardwalk Empire), Pegah Ferydoni (Almania, SOKO Hamburg), Christopher Gurr (The Good Fight, The Gilded Age), Daniel Olson (Spider-Man: Far From Home, Our Flag Means Death), Edoardo Ballerini (The Sopranos, Charmed), Joan Chen (Twin Peaks, Marco Polo), Kellan Tetlow (The Saint of the Impossible, This Is Us), Javed Khan (Nukkad, Vishnu Puran), Britian Seibert (The Knick, A Murder at the End of the World), Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts, Friends of the People), and Raúl Esparza (Hannibal, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit).

Marling and Batmanglij will executive produce with Melanie Marnich (Cradle of Man, These Shining Lives), Nicki Paluga (The OA, Ash vs Evil Dead), and Andrea Sperling (But I’m a Cheerleader, The Quiet).
