FX’s ‘The Drop: A Snowfall Saga’ Starring Gail Bean And Isaiah John Receives Official Title

The upcoming Snowfall spinoff series has officially received a title ahead of its premiere later this year. According to Deadline, the series will be titled The Drop: A Snowfall Saga and is set to debut on FX and Hulu before becoming available internationally on Disney+. 

The series stars Gail Bean (Snowfall, Unexpected, The Belko Experiment) and Isaiah John (Snowfall, All Day and a Night, Downsized), reprising their roles as Wanda and Leon from the original Snowfall series. The spinoff was first announced in 2023 following the conclusion of Snowfall and officially received a series order in November 2025. 

Set in 1990s Los Angeles, The Drop: A Snowfall Saga follows Wanda and Leon as they attempt to help bring West Coast rap music into the mainstream. According to the official synopsis, the pair must navigate the growing influence of the music industry while gang violence continues to erupt throughout the city and record labels seek to profit from the rapidly growing hip-hop culture. 

Additional cast members include Asante Blackk (When They See Us, This Is Us, Euphoria), Peyton Alex Smith (Detroit, The Longshots, All American: Homecoming), and Simmie “Buddy” Sims III (Dope, Insecure, Gully). The series also stars Mykelti Williamson (Forrest Gump, The Purge: Election Year, Con Air), Nicki Micheaux (The Shield, Summer of Violence, In the Dark), Brandon Mychal Smith (Sonny with a Chance, Let It Shine, Get on Up), Isidora Goreshter (Paranoia, Shameless, A Leading Man), Eric Balfour (24, Six Feet Under, The Offer), Richard Portnow (The Sopranos, Trumbo, Hitchcock), Zaire Adams (Senior Year, Trap House, Freeridge), Demetrius Grosse (13 Hours, Rampage, Survival), and Snowfall alum Quincy Chad (Snowfall, Orange is the New Black, The Get Down). 

The original Snowfall concluded after six seasons in 2023, ending with Franklin Saint, portrayed by Damson Idris (Snowfall, F1: The Movie, Farming), losing both his fortune and his family before spiraling into alcoholism. The new series picks up shortly after the events of the original show while shifting its focus to the evolving Los Angeles hip-hop scene.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga is executive produced by Malcolm Spellman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Empire, Captain America: Brave New World), Dave Andron (Justified, Snowfall, Knight Rider), Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing, Sports Night, Snowfall), Julie DeJoie (Snowfall, Manhattan, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), Michael London (I’ll Fly Away, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Mallrats), Trevor Engelson (All About Steve, License to Wed, Remember Me), and Paul Garnes (Selma, Origin, Middle of Nowhere). The series is produced by FX Productions.
