The expansive world of Critical Role’s beloved Exandria is about to receive new faces in the approaching fourth season of The Legend of Vox Machinia.
According to Screenrant, the plot of the new season will follow the events of the prior one, which finds the group split up and exploring their new lives. Percy, voiced by Taliesin Jaffe (One Piece: Stampede, Daggerheart), and Vex’ahlia, voiced by Laura Bailey (Soul Eater, Dispatch), are living together in Whitestone; Vax, voiced by Liam O’Brien (Naruto, Tiger & Bunny), and Keyleth, voiced by Marisha Ray (The Mighty Nein, Candela Obscura), are staying close as they navigate their duties; Scanlan, voiced by Sam Riegel (Blue Exorcist, Fate/stay night), is sailing across the realm with his daughter, Kaylie, voiced by Aisling Franciosi (Pose, Quirke), to repair their rocky relationship; and Grog, voiced by Travis Willingham (Avengers Assemble, Sonic Boom), and Pike, voiced by Ashley Johnson (Ben 10, The Last of Us) are sticking together.
A new threat is on the horizon in the form of The Whispered One, forcing the team to reunite and save the realm once again. In an interview with Screenrant’s Grant Hermanns, Riegel and Willingham discussed the star-studded voice cast. This includes the return of Jon Heder (Monster House, Surf’s Up), who is reprising his role as Lionel Gayheart from the original campaign. Reflecting on his return, they shared that they felt “so fortunate that he wanted to come back and play the character.”
Reported by Screenrant, Heder isn’t the only new name joining the upcoming season. Other high-profile guest stars slated to appear include Andy Serkis (Black Panther, Andor), Sara Ramirez (Spider-Man, Sofia the First), and Mindy Sterling (iCarly, Chowder), though details about their specific roles are still being kept under wraps. Furthermore, this isn’t the only chapter of the story fans have to look forward to; the network has already officially renewed The Legend of Vox Machina for a fifth and final season, ensuring the epic tale gets the proper conclusion it deserves.
