Freeform Developing Flight Attendant Comedy Series ‘Flighty’

Young flight attendants traveling the world, meeting new people, seeing new places, and learning about life along the way? According to Deadline, Freeform is developing a comedy series with this very premise, along with Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon Television.

Flighty will be a 30 minute, single-camera comedy series. It will follow a group of millennial-aged flight attendants as they travel, discovering new places and new things about themselves.

Baby Daddy script coordinator and executive assistant Marissa Berlin had the idea for this new series, and will serve as supervising producer for the series. Berlin previously was a staff writer for Disney Channel series Kirby Buckets, and a Production Associate for ABC Studios.

Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon Television will be producing the series. Alloy Entertainment has been behind films such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, and television shows Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals. Warner Horizon TV has been behind Pretty Little Liars, Fuller House, Rizzoli and Isles, and The Voice.

Freeform recently have been moving towards releasing more content via digital distribution, with their new series Famous in Love and their short-form series Dinner with Dad starring Jason Alexander and his son Gabe Greenspan, premiering on their platform.

For their conventional cable distribution, they will be premiering The Bold Type this summer, a series based on the real life of Cosmopolitan editor in chief, Joanna Colesare. They are also developing The Deep, a tv series which depicts a small fishing town that becomes divided after mermaids come up on land.

Stay tuned for more details about Flighty as it continues through development.
