Fred Willard Joins ‘Old Soul’

According to TVLine, the 74-year-old actor was just cast on NBC’s new comedy pilot.

 

Willard will play Hector, who used to be a Broadway songwriter and now resides on the retirement home where the show happens.

Other additions to Old Soul‘s cast include the leading lady, Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is The New Black), whose character runs the retirement home, and also Rita Moreno, who’ll play Rita, Fred Willard’s on-screen wife.

This new NBC comedy series has Amy Poehler as the EP, alongside Jonathan Fener and Josh Bycel.

Fred Willard is best known for his most recent role as Frank Dunphy in ABC’s Modern Family. He has starred in other shows like Community, Good Luck Charlie! and Hot In Cleveland, among others.
