Broadchurch remake Gracepoint has added Nick Nolte to the growing cast of the upcoming Fox series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Nolte will play Jack Reinhold, a stubborn single man living in Gracepoint for the last two decades. Nolte’s character “runs the kayak rental on the beach as well as the local wildlife observation program, where the murdered boy was one of his volunteers.”
Gracepoint is about a murder in a small coastal town. Others in the cast include David Tennant the lead detective, Anna Gunn, Jacki Weaver, Michael Pena, and Kevin Zegers.
The remake was announced after Broadchurch had a run on BBC America. Creator Chris Chibnall said: “The DNA of the original is absolutely intact and filtered through a new prism, so it should still feel just as vibrant, and interesting, and strange, and unique, and beautiful, but just in a different setting — and then it’s exploring the dramatic opportunities that that offers up.”
Filming for the remake begins in January.
