First Look at Disney Plus Marvel Shows During Super Bowl

Disney Plus debuted exclusive footage of several upcoming Marvel TV series during the Super Bowl, including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki. The 30 second trailer teased at the expanding comic-book universe that will premier this year on the small screen.

All stories, which have been previous featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are headed for Disney Plus, partnering with Marvel and Walt Disney Studios. WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premier in fall 2020, while Loki will debut in spring 2021.

Original series WandaVision will see Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprise their roles as Wanda Maximof, also known as Scarlet Witch, and Vision. The series is set in 1950s suburbia where the superheroes are attempting to live simple lives, however things are not what they seem at the surface.

From the joint trailer, clips of WandaVision reveal the characters jumping through to various different timelines. High profile actors such as Kathryn Hahn and Marvel alums Randall Park and Kat Dennings are a part of the series, with Jac Schaeffer as head writer and Matt Shakman as director.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, also premiering in the fall, will pick up from the end of the movie, Avengers: Endgame. Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson will be taking over as the new Captain America, from Chris Evans. Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Solider. In the series Captain America and Winter Solider come together for global adventures. Malcolm Spellman will serve as head writer with Kari Skogland directing the show.

Loki will debut in spring 2021 and will also begin where Avengers: Endgame ended. Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki with Michael Waldron as head writer and Kate Herron directing. Disney Plus has several other series in the works, including Hawkeye with Jeremy Renner, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Moon Knight and What If…?

Marvel Studio’s also released the trailer to Black Widow during the game. The movie, starring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour, will open in theatres on May 1.
