Fight Breaks Out on ‘Madam Secretary’ Set

Discussions have surrounded CBS’s long time running show Madam Secretary starring Tea Leoni (Fun with Dick and Jane) and continues to make headlines after a fight broke out over the weekend during the shows on set filming.

A large amount of background actors we’re needed on set in Whippany, New Jersey for a scene involving Tea Leoni’s character Secretary of State, Elizabeth McCord as she gives speech. During a break, a confrontation between a craft service employee and a background actor began when the actor cut in front others while they we’re in line waiting for food from craft services. The female craft service employee saw this and asked the actor to move to the back of the line. It was then that according to Entertainment Weekly, the actor pushes the female employee and the employee’s spouse who also works at craft services takes initiative and punches the actor.

The fight escalates as multiple outlets report that the spouse throws the actor on top of a table full of food and continued to repeatedly punch the actor in the face leaving him covered with blood. When officers arrived, they had to separate the two individuals, apparently having to force the spouse away from the actor. So far no arrests have been made but the actor was taken to the hospital to be evaluated and treated for injuries. The production of the show was fortunately not affected in anyway.

Madam Secretary is a series that follows the life of Elizabeth McCord as she tries to balance the work and home life while working then as active Secretary of State now turned President of the United States for the series in its current sixth and final season which premiered on October 7th. Madam Secretary was allowed for renewal to wrap up its storyline but the decision for its cancellation was due to the shows low viewership being the second lowest for audience turnout.
