The HBO coming of age series Euphoria is back with another special episode and this time Jules is taking center stage. Portrayed by Hunter Schafer in her debut role, the trailer entitled “Jules: Part 2,” was released on Monday, via Indiewire.
Just like the first special episode “Trouble Don’t Always Last,” this second special episode, “F–k Anyone Who’s Not Sea Blob,” will be arriving early. It will be made available to stream on HBO Max January 22 ahead of its scheduled premiere on HBO, January 24.
Euphoria stars Zendaya (The Greatest Showman) as high school student Rue, a drug addict attempting to stay sober after a stint in rehab due to an overdose. Struggling to stay clean, she falls in love with the new girl in town, Jules. Throughout the first season, she battles her addiction while also having ups and downs with Jules that then hits a crescendo in the season one finale.

The first special episode which aired this past December follows Rue in the direct aftermath of the season one finale. Left by Jules at the train station, it’s an ominous end to their relationship as it leads Rue to relapse. The episode was a drastic change from previous Euphoria episodes. Taking place in a diner, Rue meets up with her sponsor Ali, portrayed by Colman Domingo (Fear of the Walking Dead), as they discuss love and addiction over pancakes. The episode was met with praise from critics as it traded in the typical glitz and glamour of the show for gritty reality.
Now, “F–k Anyone Who’s Not a Sea Blob,” will turn its lens from Rue to Jules. The trailer shows an isolated and sullen Jules dealing with the fact that she left Rue stranded at the train station. Reliving that fateful goodbye, she’s forced to mull over what it means for her and Rue’s fractured relationship.
Euphoria season two was about to start filming in March when COVID-19 struck and stopped Hollywood in its tracks. With the season one finale airing in August of 2019, these two episodes are meant to serve as bridge episodes by giving fans something to hold onto while they await season two.
Both episodes were shot during the pandemic with a sparse cast and crew. Functioning as character studies with small sets and limited actors, it enabled a smaller risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19. Sam Levinson (Another Happy Day), creator of the series, directed both episodes.
