‘Emily in Paris’ Renewed for a Season 2 at Netflix

Things are looking bright for the city of Paris. Netflix has renewed the Lily Collins (The Blind Side) romantic comedy Emily in Paris for a second season. The news was announced Wednesday through Netflix posting a video and memo on their various social media platforms via Entertainment Weekly

With high fashion and romance waiting at every corner, Emily in Paris’s first season was a major success for Netflix. It’s created by Darren Starr (Younger) who was also the creator behind HBO’s timeless series Sex and the City. With Emily in Paris, circumstances are similar as a young ambitious woman moves to a new city.

In the first season, Collins portrays Emily, an executive at a company based in Chicago who gets transferred to Paris. Once there, she goes through heartbreaks along with adjusting to a new city, new friends, and a new job. The series also stars Ashley Park (Tales of the City), Camille Razat (Girls with Balls), Lucas Bravo (Caprice), and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Call My Agent!).

In keeping with the style of the show, the news for a season two renewal was announced via a memo on social media. Posted to Instagram by Netlix, the memo says, “We hope that by extending her time in Paris, Emily will further the relationships she has already made, delve deeper into our culture, and perhaps pick up a few words of basic French.” Along with the memo, a video of cast members reacting to the news of a second season was also included. The video contained champagne and berets in true Paris fashion.

Star of the show Collins also shared both the memo and video to her Instagram page. See the post including the full length memo below:
