Dominic Cooper will star in a new British mini-series about the man who created the Bond novels: Ian Fleming.
Fleming, a real life spy, based his Bond novels loosely off his own experience. Fleming is a playboy, gambler, and spy, very much like his character James Bond. Fleming tells the story of Ian Fleming before he started writing the Bond books, with a focus on his WWII posting in the British Naval Intelligence which inspired his novels.
The cast als0 includes Annabelle Wallis as Muriel Wright, the woman with whom Fleming had an affair, Lara Pulver, Samuel West, Lelsley Manville, Rupert Evans and Anna Chancello. The show is directed by Mat Whitecross and written by John Brownlow and Don MacPherson.
Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond will premiere in winter 2014 on BBC America in the U.S. and on Sky Atlantic in the U.K.
