Disney+’s ‘Loki’ Has Resumed Production

The upcoming Disney+ series Loki, as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has resumed production for its first season, according to Screen Rant. The Marvel Studios production had to halt filming in March 2020 due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and has received the green light with resuming the process.

Loki is created by Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty, HarmonQuest) as based on the Loki character by Stan Lee (The Amazing Spider-Man). The upcoming streaming series is set to act as a sequel to the conclusion of the MCU’s Phase Three in Avengers: Endgame where Loki begins to travel throughout history and create alternate universes and timelines for himself and other Marvel characters. Currently, Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager, Kong: Skull Island) is reprising his role as Loki and the cast also includes the likes of Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Doctor Who, Beauty and the Beast), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), and Sophia Di Martino (Casualty).

The upcoming Marvel series is set to answer lot of questions revolving around the mysterious God of Mischief. In Avengers: Endgame, Loki was capable of obtaining the Tesseract during the Battle of New York flashback and disappeared which created numerous questions from fans about his whereabouts. Loki is set to explain some of his plans and timelines that he will be traversing.

“It feels great to be back. Everyone is trying to do it as safely as possible under the circumstances, and it feels good. I’m excited. It’s a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see it,” said Mbatha-Raw to Forbes magazine.

Loki is one of the many upcoming Marvel and Disney+ series that are to be released with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, expecteHiddlestond to premiere in January 2021, and WandaVision, which just released its first trailer during the 72nd Emmy Awards. Currently, there is no expected premiere date for Loki.
