Disney Reveals Two New ‘Star Wars’ TV Series Release Dates

Since Disney has wrapped up its year in a galaxy far, far away with the TV series Ahsoka, Star Wars fans are gearing up and anxiously waiting for some new content. According to ScreenRant, Disney has released an official confirmation that two new live-action Star Wars television shows will arrive next year along with some potential changes to previously announced release dates. Although there is confirmation that there will be new content, there is still a lot of mystery about what the year 2024 holds for the franchise.

ScreenRant reports Disney has confirmed that the next live-action TV Series released from the Star Wars universe will be Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and Star Wars: Acolyte. Both of these series are set to be released in 2024 and have had fans waiting for any information regarding premieres since April’s Star Wars Celebration. But now, on Disney.com, there is confirmation on when audiences can expect them and also some changes in the timeline order in which they will be released along with some other content.

Star Wars: Acolyte will be released first. The show features the High Republic storyline. After that, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be released second and takes place during the New Republic era with The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. The changes in the schedule come into play when looking at the official 2024 releases online. These all depend on other studios within Disney that are releasing content this year as well.

According to ScreenRant, most of the entertainment that is being released this year is listed on the website in the order that it is coming out, including other projects from Marvel. On the Disney website, all of the projects seem to be listed and Acolyte seems to maintain an early release date in 2024 despite being rumored of a 2023 premiere. It also shows that Skeleton Crew, while still coming out in 2024, will have a much later release date within the year.

Many of the release date changes have stemmed from delays due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. The second season of Andor, which has been a highly anticipated series since its widely acclaimed first season, was slated to come out in the Fall of 2024 but now has been pushed to most likely, 2025. But fans shouldn’t fear as Star Wars: Acolyte and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew are still set to come out in 2024.
