Disney+ And Marvel Add Jameela Jamil To The Cast Of ‘She-Hulk’ Series

Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) will join the cast of the upcoming Disney+ and Marvel She-Hulk series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jamil’s role will be the villain Titania.

Jamil joins previously announced cast members Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) as She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers) as Hulk/Bruce Banner and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs), returning to the MCU as The Abomination for the first time since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton) is set to appear but her role has not been confirmed.

The series has been billed as a half-hour legal comedy that follows superhero and lawyer Jennifer Walters, who is the cousin of Bruce Banner, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the comics, Walters acquires his Hulk powers after receiving a blood transfusion from Banner.

According to ComicBook.com, Jamil’s Titania will be “a social media influencer with dangerous dark side,” but plot details beyond that are unclear. Titania, aka Mary MacPherran, first appeared in 1984’s Secret Wars No. 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Born premature and small in stature, Mary was given super powers by Doctor Doom and renamed Titania.

Jamil was a breakout star of the ABC comedy, The Good Place. She appeared in the series Mira, Royal Detective and has done voicework for several shows, including DuckTales, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, and Animaniacs.

She-Hulk is currently filming in Atlanta and is expected to premiere in 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kat Coiro (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia) has been tapped as the director and executive producer on the series. Coiro will team with showrunner and executive producer Jessica Gao (Silicon Valley).
