Kat Coiro (Single Parents) has been tapped to executive produce and direct Marvel’s She-Hulk series on Disney+, via Deadline. Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty) has been confirmed to be leading the writers room for the show.
Stan Lee created She-Hulk with John Buscema in 1980. She-Hulk was the last major character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She-Hulk’s alter ego is an attorney named Jennifer Walters. After undergoing an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner (aka Hulk), she inherited some of Hulk’s powers. While Banner loses his intelligence and personality when he becomes Hulk, Walters is able to keep those aspects when she’s Hulked out.
She-Hulk follows the much anticipated Marvel Studios projects The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki. All are in development or production stages and will premiere on Disney+. With Coiro on board, all that’s left is to find the actress to play She-Hulk.
Coiro’s film Marry Me will premiere on Valentine’s Day 2021. The movie stars Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers), Owen Wilson (Zoolander), Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Project), and Maluma. In the past, she has directed episodes for Dead To Me, Shameless, Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and more.
Coiro posted about the news on Instagram.
