Dave Filoni Confirms Second Season for ‘Tales of the Jedi’

Co-creator Dave Filoni (The Oblongs, Avatar: The Last Airbender) is bringing another season for Tales of the Jedi. Filoni confirmed that there will be second season of the animated series during the 15th-anniversary panel for Star Wars: The Clone Wars at the Star Wars 2023 Celebration, according to Deadline.

This morning, the news was tweeted by the Star Wars Twitter account:

Tales of the Jedi was so fun the first time, I decided to do some more,” Filoni said.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi season one had six short episodes. Half of those episodes focused on Ahsoka Tano, while the other half spotlighted Count Dooku. For a brief series of shorts, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi included several major Star Wars revelations, including the fate of Jedi Master Yaddle.

“These six Tales of the Jedi are beautiful, moving, and deceptively layered for their brevity while packing a few surprises and jaw-dropping moments along the way. Lucasfilm Animation managed to squeeze a lot of Star Wars magic into these shorts, and viewers will only be disappointed that there aren’t more of them,” proclaimed Filoni via ComicBook.

Knowing Filoni’s history, it’s likely that season two will also revisit the Clone Wars era in some way, according to SuperHeroHype. Regardless, there is strong chance that the focus could shift to characters from Star Wars Rebels, given their large roles in the upcoming Ahsoka series.

It is unclear whether Ahsoka Tano will make an appearance in the second season of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, despite her significant role in the first season, according to ComicBook. The voice actor for the character was Ashley Eckstein (Sydney White, Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

No other details were confirmed about Tales of the Jedi, but stayed tuned for news about the upcoming season.
